Hogan Gidley Calls on North Carolina Legislature to override Governor’s veto of Election integrity bill
Washington, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Hogan Gidley, Vice Chair of the Center for Election Integrity at AFPI, regarding the opportunity for the North Carolina Legislature to override Governor Roy Cooper’s veto of Senate Bill (S.B.) 747. This bill includes several beneficial election integrity measures, including banning Zuckerbucks and establishing firm deadlines for when all ballots must be received.
“The majority of voters on all sides want an election system that’s transparent with no private influence, and one that provides accurate election results more quickly. Governor Cooper’s veto prevents all of that. The fight to make it easy to vote, but hard to cheat is here. The America First Policy Institute stands with those who want honest and transparent elections. Members of the North Carolina Legislature should protect legal votes and legal voters and override of the Governor’s veto.”
