STATEMENT: Ken Blackwell and Hogan Gidley as The House Administration Committee clears the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act

Washington, D.C. – Today, the America First Policy Institute (AFPI) released the following statement from Ken Blackwell, Chair of the Center for Election Integrity at AFPI, and Hogan Gidley, Vice-Chair of the Center for Election Integrity at AFPI, as the House Administration Committee clears the American Confidence in Elections (ACE) Act. The ACE Act would implement several key federal election integrity measures, such as prohibiting outside funding of elections administration, ensuring only American citizens can vote in American elections, and more.

“We must protect every legal vote and every legal voter—and the ACE Act is a fantastic step toward achieving that goal.  Polling shows the vast majority of Americans have concerns about how elections are conducted in this country, and policymakers cannot afford to ignore the American people’s desire for voter protection measures. AFPI’s Center for Election Integrity applauds the House Administration Committee clearing this Act, and we look forward to further action in the Congress. Together, we can help make it easy to vote, but hard to cheat.”
