Focus on Rural Revitalization and Small Family FARMS

New Mexico’s rugged mountains and high desert plains form a landscape as prosperous and resilient as the people who call it home. From the historic trade routes of Santa Fe to the pioneering laboratories of Los Alamos, New Mexico has long been a crossroads of culture and innovation.
Today, New Mexicans still share a deep sense of tradition, a reverence for faith and family, and a belief that hard work and personal responsibility open the door to opportunity. In recent years, as families and job creators have sought refuge from overregulation, a failing education system, and rising crime, New Mexico’s untapped potential has come into sharper focus as a state ready to lead, if only given the chance to thrive.
The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) has established its New Mexico state chapter to champion the principles that built this Nation and empower the people of the Land of Enchantment to reclaim their future. Guided by AFPI’s America First Agenda, AFPI-New Mexico will advance bold solutions to fix our broken education system; protect our communities from crime, drug cartels, and human trafficking; and tackle the crises of failing healthcare and generational poverty.

Thanks to Stronger Borders, New Mexico is Safer
For years, New Mexico experienced firsthand the real-world consequences of a broken southern border. This lived reality overburdened local law enforcement, strained our health care services, and allowed a flood of fentanyl and other dangerous drugs into our state.
AFPI Applauds Bipartisan Vote to Protect New Mexico Energy
The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) New Mexico Chapter released the following statement after state legislators voted to strike down the Clear Horizons Act — a proposal that would have imposed costly emissions mandates and driven up energy prices for New Mexico families:
The Clear Horizons Act Is a Clear Warning
New Mexico does not need a new way to make energy scarce. Senate Bill 18, branded as the “Clear Horizons Act,” would write an economy-wide emissions mandate into law and then hand regulators the power to re-engineer how New Mexicans produce and use energy. The bill sets statewide emissions caps pegged to 2005 levels and ratchets them tighter, to “one hundred percent less,” by mid-century, effectively turning “net zero” into a legal requirement. In plain English, it is an energy-rationing bill dressed up as a feel-good slogan.
AFPI Governors’ Council Applauds Secretaries McMahon and Bessent for Expanding Education Freedom
The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) Governors’ Council is proud to opt in to the federal education freedom tax credit scholarship. Yesterday, the council sent a letter of appreciation to Secretaries McMahon and Bessent for their support of this groundbreaking program.
New Mexicans Should Take Advantage of Education Tax Credits
New Mexico has a choice to make. The state can empower New Mexico families with scholarships to send their children to schools that meet their needs, or it can allow those dollars to flow to children in other states. The right choice is clear: New Mexico’s children should come first.
