From the first flight at Kitty Hawk to the tobacco farms and textile mills that once powered its economy, North Carolina has always been defined by ingenuity and resilience. Its small towns and vibrant cities—stretching from the Outer Banks to the Appalachian Mountains—reflect a balance of tradition and forward- thinking.

It is a place where communities are strong, values run deep, and people still believe in the dignity of work, the strength of faith, and the promise of opportunity. More recently, as Americans from across the country have sought out states that offer economic mobility, educational excellence, and freedom from overregulation, North Carolina has risen as a compelling destination for families, entrepreneurs, and innovators alike.

The America First Policy Institute has established its North Carolina state chapter to support and amplify these enduring principles. Grounded in AFPI’s America First Agenda, AFPI–North Carolina is committed to ensuring that the Tar Heel State continues to lead with freedom, empower its people, and model a better future for our nation.
