I am a sixth-generation Georgian. I was raised in the Lowcountry and for the last 28 years have called the North Georgia mountains home. I have been honored to serve the communities that I have lived in as a city council member and as a Mayor Pro Tem, and today I serve as Executive Director of the America First Policy Institute Georgia Chapter.

I think about whether they will grow up in a country where hard work still leads to opportunity, where owning a home is possible, where savings grow instead of shrinking and where being financially stable isn’t a dream, it is a reality.

As a former local elected official, I have seen how federal policy decisions trickle into city budgets, affect small businesses and direct family finances. As a wife, daughter, and grandmother, I see how those same decisions impact the very conversation held at my own kitchen table.
